“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” - Nelson Mandela
This quote serves as her daily reminder to help students reach their full potential while building strong relationships and instilling a love for learning that will remain with them for the rest of their lives. She believes it is important that students develop healthy social-emotional skills in addition to academic skills, so she enjoys teaching students about growth mindset and Richmond College Prep’s core values (perseverance, respect, integrity, determination, and empathy). She also believes that these areas of learning will help students become well-equipped, independent problem solvers and overcome challenges that they may experience throughout their lives. She loves teaching children because of the excitement and energy that they display every day. The best feeling that comes with teaching is witnessing students having an “aha” moment after learning how to read, write, and understand math concepts. This is what truly inspires her to teach!
In her spare time, she loves spending time with family and friends, camping, hiking, trying new foods at ethnically diverse restaurants, going to the beach, long drives along the coast, and traveling to new places.
