Ms. Altamirano is thrilled to begin her third year as the 7th grade Reading and Writing teacher at RCP. This year she is very excited to also be teaching 6th grade Reading and Writing.

Ms. Altamirano was born and raised in Santa Barbara, CA. She moved up to the Bay Area to attend UC Berkeley for her undergraduate degree. After graduating from CAL she earned her teaching credential and masters degree from Loyola Marymount University.

In the classroom, Ms. Altamirano strives to incorporate culturally relevant pedagogy, differentiated learning, rigor, collaboration, and strong relationship building. She is driven to support students in various ways in order for them to become lifelong learners that can utilize all their potential.

When she is not teaching, Ms. Altamirano enjoys spending time with her family, listening to podcasts, trying new restaurants, and caring for her numerous house plants. Ms. Altamirano loves living in the Bay Area and looks forward to continuing to serve the Richmond community.
