Deirdre Ford is so excited to join the 5th grade team at Richmond College Prep this year! She recently moved to the Bay Area from Philadelphia where she ran a non-profit called "Minorities in Science and Technology" focusing on connecting students in the Philadelphia School District to mentors, internship opportunities and scholarships in the tri-state area. Ms. Ford graduated from the University of Pittsburgh where she graduated with a B.A. in English Writing and Education. At the University of Pittsburgh Ms. Ford played on the varsity women's soccer team, continuing her love of the sport playing on a semi-pro team in Washington, DC and coaching at various schools in the Washington, DC and Philadelphia area. She has also run multiple programs for 10-14 year old students for the Boys & Girls club throughout the Philadelphia area. She also recently taught summer school at Montalvin Elementary School in Richmond this summer!
Ms. Ford is so excited to join her mother, stepfather, brother, nieces and nephews who all reside in the Bay area. In her free time she enjoys filmmaking, her documentary "Gear Girls" focusing on an all minority girls robotics team, as well as women in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) will be out later this year! Also, she loves writing, reading, playing soccer, animals and enjoying the beautiful San Francisco weather with her fiancé Christian.
