Born in New Jersey and raised in Latin America, Ms. Lisa Carlson graduated from New York University with a B.A. in anthropology and French. After college, she worked in Paris, then in New York she produced audio-visual presentations for corporations.
Prior to transitioning to RCP, Ms. Carlson was founding writer, editor, and content coordinator for the monthly community magazines Berkeley Hills Living and Montclair Living in the East Bay. She’s also a private writing coach and edits fiction and non-fiction books. Ms. Carlson taught copyediting at UC Berkeley Extension’s Certificate in Editing program, live and online. Many of her students have gone on to establish successful publishing careers.
She is a member and former chair of Bay Area Editors’ Forum, an organization dedicated to helping editors to network while enhancing their skills, and she co-chaired the National Writers Union BizTech division, which helped word workers protect their rights in the business world.
She has traveled widely, spending time in Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, and India.
