Hello! I am Maria Elda Escalada. I am one of the Kindergarten teachers in RCP, where I have been happily working for three years. I am originally from the Philippines where I graduated with a degree in Communication in 1986, and many years later, I earned my Masters in Early Childhood Education from Ashford University in 2015. I consider myself a lifelong learner and I believe that the constant challenges and trials I am faced with only makes me strive and persevere more to reach the goals I set for myself.
"Children are like wet cement. Whatever falls on them makes an impression."
— Dr. Haim Ginott
This quote inspires me to be mindful of what I teach my students and to provide them a variety of opportunities to discover about themselves and how to relate with other people, and also to feel valued, respected, and to develop self-confidence. I enjoy working with young children because I am fascinated with their inquisitiveness and candor, and it is my joy and pleasure to watch them make connections with the world around them, to create positive memories, to love learning, and simply be happy!
