Why Ms. Chang loves to watch TV Christmas Specials

I always loved to watch TV Christmas Specials.

By Ms. Chang

I finally know why.  It was 1978, when newly arrived in Richmond, exactly December 18, and knowing no one in the area, accompanied by a husband and four children: two daughters, one 8 and the other 5 years of age, and two sons, one 20 months old son,and the other one only 5 months old, with no telephone installed yet, a neighbor- dear Josephine Paz- brought me a small Christmas Tree.

My first Christmas in the United States was saved when I saw a TV Christmas Special with Jose Feliciano singing Feliz Navidad,  Johnny Cash singing Silent Night and the Mandrel sisters singing Noel.

I still watch TV Christmas Specials, although the singers are young, the songs are still the same, and I always sing along, even when I do not always know the lyrics.
This year will be a very special one, I will have my six children with me.
Christmas is eternal as the word that gave it birth.

” Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas” as the song goes.
