ASAS 2017-18 Participation List

Dear RCP Community: Thank you for enrolling in After-School All-Stars at RCP or getting on the waiting list. Below is the current roster of students enrolled in the program. If you have any questions, please contact our Site Coordinator at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. During the first week of school, if enrolled students do not show up, we will call the students on the waitlist in the order in which they are listed.  Please note that ASAS will not provide after-school care 11/20/17, 11/21/17, 1/3/18, 1/4/18, 1/5/18. Please ensure your student is picked up between 5:45 pm and 6:00 pm.

RCP Parents and Families 

Our offices will be closed July 3rd - July 31st 

  • Summer School for 2nd -7th grade is July 10th - July 28th
  • Parent Orientation for NEW Parents TK- 5th grade is August 4th
  • Middle School Orientation for all parents of 6th and 7th graders is Saturday August 5th at 9:00am Breakfast will be served
  • First Day of School for all students is Monday August 7th

The RCP 6th grade leadership group have been given the incredible opportunity to go to DC through the program Close Up. The students left on Sunday, June 3, 2017 and stay until Wednesday, June 7, 2017.

Close Up’s Middle School Programs are designed to give students hands-on opportunities to interact with government and history in Washington, DC. Close Up is more than just a tour. It is a fast-paced, fun-filled, and educational experience in one of the world’s most dynamic cities. The staff uses Washington’s key institutions and historic sites as interactive classrooms to help students explore the links between history and the rights and responsibilities of citizens today. https://www.closeup.org/program/middle-school

  • Close Up Trip to DC: June 4th – June 7th, with Alphas, Ms. Ellis, and Ms. Peters
  • Science Fair: Thursday, June 8th in the Maritime Library  
  • Spelling Bee & Final Assembly: Tuesday, June 13th at 2:15 pm
  • The Lorax Performance: Wednesday, June 14th at 6:00 pm in the Maritime Garden
  • 6th- Grade Breakfast: Wednesday, June 14th at 8:00 am in the Maritime Library; 6th-grade students leave at 1:00 pm
  • 6th-Grade Graduation: Thursday, June 15th at 11:00 in the Maritime Garden
  • Tk-5th Grade Celebrations and Last Day of School: Friday, June 23rd
  • Summer School: Monday, July 10th through Friday, July 28th

There are a few new activities coming up:

Parent-led Crossing Guard/Traffic Control Program Starting Next Week
Next week we will be starting a new parent led crossing guard/traffic control program. RCP parents have been trained  and will be wearing yellow vests and have stop signs. This activity is scheduled to start on Tuesday, May 23rd. We will begin with Tuesdays and Thursdays supporting the morning drop off on Florida Ave.  Richmond Police Department have offered their support during the first two weeks of this program.

On behalf of our entire school community I want to say congratulations to you and your kids! Our school was chosen by Educational Results Partnership (ERP) and the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence (CBEE) as a 2016 California Honor Roll recipient!

The California Honor Roll is part of a national effort known for its extensive and rigorous analysis of student achievement in public schools. Our school stood above other schools in the state because of our success in getting students to grade level achievement and beyond.
