Hello, my name is José Chang, I have called Richmond College Prep my work “home” for the past eight years. I have worked as a CELDT test examiner, an ELD tutor for the regular school session, Saturday school, and summer school. Additionally, I have worked as the school’s librarian. I currently work as RCP’s ELPAC Coordinator and work predominantly with English learner staff and families and hope to continue doing so into the future.
I am the youngest of six, first- and second-generation, college graduate children of immigrant parents. I am of Guatemalan, Italian, and Chinese descent.
When I am not working, I am learning languages on Duolingo! My favorite languages to study are currently: Spanish, French, Portuguese, Turkish, and Japanese, just to name a few. I am also an avid reader of current national and international news. I LOVE to know what is happening around the world! Reading has been my passion since second grade and I LOVE reading many different genres, but my favorites by far are world history and biographies/autobiographies. Also, I enjoy hiking and traveling outside of California as often as possible.
