Health & Physical Education Mission Statement
Health & Physical Education is part of the educational process which contributes to the physical, mental, social and emotional growth and well-being of each student. A regular program of physical education is provided in each grade.
- Our goal is to provide movement activities that will strive to:
- Develop motor skills necessary to perform a variety of physical activities
- Develop a level of physical fitness that will enable active physical participation and enhance motor skill learning
- Develop knowledge, understanding and benefit from involvement in physical activity and its contribution to a healthy lifestyle
- Promote interest and proficiency in activities that will enable students to participate successfully, now and in the future

Meet Coach Eddie
Coach Edward Augustus serves as the PE Instructor at Richmond College Prep Schools. Originally from Trinidad and Tobago—located just northeast of Venezuela—he spent his teen years in Chicago, Illinois. He earned his degree in Exercise Science and Physical Education from North Central College in Naperville, Illinois, in 2014.
With over 20 years of coaching experience, Coach Eddie has spent the past eight years as the lead PE coach and Athletic Director at RCP Schools. He brings a deep passion for fitness and student growth, helping students develop both physical strength and mental resilience to support their success in the classroom.
He is proud to be part of the RCP family and continues to inspire students every day through movement, discipline, and teamwork.
Meet Coach Q
Coach Chris Quijano is the Assistant Physical Education Coach and Sports Team Coordinator at Richmond College Prep. He joined RCP during the 2015–2016 school year, beginning as an Instructional Assistant before stepping into his current role. Originally from the Philippines, he has lived in the U.S. since the age of 7 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from California State University East Bay.
Coach Q brings energy and enthusiasm to RCP’s athletic program and is dedicated to supporting students’ growth through physical education and team sports. Outside of school, he enjoys muay thai kickboxing, American football, comics, and fantasy games like Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering.
