TK-2 ELA Vision and Framework
Literacy is a fundamental right and the foundation for future success. The Richmond College Prep TK-2 literacy program is rooted in evidence based programs, ensuring that all students, including multilingual learners, build strong foundational skills and confidence as readers and writers. Our goal is for every student to make at least one year of growth in reading each year and to enter 3rd grade fully prepared to transition from learning to read to reading to learn across all subjects.
Math Vision Statement (3GR-8GR)
At our school, our vision for math education is to create a dynamic, student-centered learning environment where all students achieve mastery through rigorous standards-based instruction, continuous assessment, and targeted support. We strive to foster deep mathematical understanding, fluency, and problem-solving skills through key practices.
Through these strategies, we are committed to ensuring every student develops a strong foundation in mathematics, fluency in multiplication, and the confidence to approach complex problems with a growth mindset. Our vision emphasizes mastery, targeted support, and continuous reflection on teaching practices to provide a high-quality math education for all learners.
Supporting Early Literacy at Home
Families are a child’s first and most important teachers. You don’t need to be a reading expert to help your child become a strong reader. Just spending time talking, reading, and playing together makes a big difference. Research shows that early literacy experiences at home build the foundation for reading success and long-term academic achievement.
