Grandpa Allen Garden Party (Pictures)
On Saturday, under the beautiful sunny sky, over 60 students, parents and volunteers gathered in the Grandpa Allen Garden area for another successful garden party. Our school gardener, Ms Zia organized the event and along with friends and community members worked hard to transform the garden area. "It feels so good to be working outside together" - Zia
The volunteers and the students enjoyed fresh fruit smoothies, a library pop-up, painted watercolors and seed giveaways. The team was able to clean up our garden and get it ready for Spring and Summer.
Its Earth Week!
It's Earth Week! All this week our students will be thinking abut the Earth and doing sustainability-minded activities. Earth Week will culminate in our Spring Garden Volunteer Day! It will be this Saturday, April 21st, from 10-2! Come join us to help make our garden even more beautiful and ready for a bountiful summer. There will be crafts, lunch, and lots of opportunities to get your hands in the soil. See you there!

7th Graders Write and Perform Original Play
Students in our 7th Theater class performed their original play, The Tale of Two Planets, in our cafeteria on December 13th, 2017. The play tells the story of two families, one that lives on Mars and one that lives on Venus. Venus and Mars are mortal enemies and often fight each other with soccer moves and dance battles. Jazmine, a young girl from Venus, and Chris, a young boy from Mars, meet while flying around and exploring Space. They decide to try to stop the fighting and make their families realize that they are more alike than they are different. Our students wrote, designed, produced, and performed this wonderful production.
